SCOUTING REPORT: Matthew is a 2020 graduate; he has a 3.97 GPA (4.1 Weighted); scored a 34 ACT; and has the ability to play multiple positions - OF; Corner Infield ; and catcher. We project Matthew's primary position at the collegiate level to be in the outfield. He is the consummate student-athlete who excels in the classroom (GPA 4.1/34 ACT) and on the baseball diamond. Defensively, as an outfielder he can go get the ball. Matthew covers a ton of ground with his speed and athleticism. He takes excellent routes to the ball and will give up his body for the ball without hesitation. He has a strong arm that makes a difference and saves runs. He has also shown the ability to transition over 3B or catcher when needed; understanding how to play the positions very well. Offensively, Matthew has very good hand-eye-coordination. He handles the bat well; understands the strike-zone; and knows when to turn on the ball. He has above average bat speed and gets the barrel to the ball quickly. Matthew has power to all fields and hits line drives consistently. He is very confident when hitting in pressure situations. Matthew is a physical player and is going to develop even more power as he keeps getting stronger. This young man will be an asset to any college program and has a work ethic that is 2nd to none.
